On May the 9th I was born at 4:06am in Sheffield Jessop’s Maternity hospital, I spent my first day in there with my mummy and daddy and I also had a few visitors that came to see me that day, Grandma & Granddad, Auntie Caz, Uncle Tony, Joe & Sam & Carly, I stayed in there for 1 night with my mummy.

The next morning my daddy came to see me and I had a very busy day, I had my 1st professional photo taken and lots of check ups and test by the doctors and midwifes. My great grandma and great granddad also came to see me. In the afternoon mummy and daddy gave me my 1st bath. Later on that day at teatime I was allowed to finally go to my new house and see where I will live with mummy and daddy. Daddy then drove me and mummy home.

For the next week or so every day was pretty much the same, my midwife would come to my house to check that me and mummy were ok, and apart from eating and sleeping I didn’t really do much else.

The first two weeks after I was born my daddy stayed at home to help mummy look after me. My Auntie Caz came to visit nearly every day when I was first born, I also had the following visitors come to see me at home within my first few weeks that I was born, Grandma, Granddad, Uncle Tony, my cousins Joe & Sam, both my Great Grandma and Granddads, Lauren, Gregg, Aimee, Dean and baby Jacob, Saphire, Adele, Claire, Carly, Andrea, Andrew, Molly & Poppy, Maria, Nicola, Marie and Shauna, Denise, Rita, Julie, Kelly and baby Cameron, Winston, Maxine, Sandra, Stacey and Sally and my neighbours Tracy, Nicola and Lorraine.

On 16th May at 11am I had an appointment with mummy and daddy to go to the Sheffield Registry Office in the town centre and have my name registered, this was our 1st family outing. It rained all day but I was lovely and dry and warm in my new pram that my Grandma and Granddad bought me.

On 19th May mummy and daddy took me to visit my Great Grandma and Granddad, mummy and daddy had their tea cooked for them there, this was their first proper meal that they had since I was born.

 June 2011

On the 8th and 16th June the health visitor came to my house to check and weigh me.

On the 14th June my mummy took me to St Josephs baby and toddler group where we met up with Aimee and baby Jacob

My mummy also takes me out in the pram a lot, we go to the park, to the local shops on Handsworth top and to the Asda.

July 2011

So on the 4th July my mummy took me to see the health visitor where I had a routine check up, they said that I am a perfect healthy baby.

On the 6th July I had to have my immunisations, I cried but my mummy and auntie Caz were there to give me lots of kisses and cuddles and make me feel better. The nurse said that I might be poorly for a few days after but I was perfectly fine.

On Sunday the 10th July it was a lovely sunny day and I went to my first birthday party, my friend across the road Charlie was 2 years old, the weather was lovely and sunny and they had a BBQ, we were meant to only be going over for an hour but we ended up being the first ones there at 2pm and last ones to leave at 7pm, my mummy and daddy were having so much fun and were a little bit tipsy, I slept in my pram for most of the day.

On Wednesday 13th July it was my first time at St Mary's Church playgroup, again I slept most of the time whilst my mummy drank tea and chatted to other mums.

On Friday 15th July I went with my mummy to the pub to meet Kirsty for lunch.

On Monday 18th July I went on my first ever holiday with mummy and daddy to stay in daddy's friends beautifully posh caravan at Cayton Bay Holiday Park, we went for 5 days although if you saw how full the car was you would think that we were going for a year!

We had the best time even though it did rain, mummy and daddy took me swimming one day, we went to the club on the site every other night. The rain didn't put mummy and daddy off at all as we spent our days visiting the local seasides of Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.

We came home on the Friday, we didn't get home until late as we spent the day in Bridlington and typically this was our last day and the weather was beautiful, my mummy took me for a dip in the paddling pool, and on the beach for the very first time. We then got lost coming home and ended up travelling through York as mummy took the wrong turn!

We called at Grandmas and Granddads on the way home to pick up some clean washing and I had a bath in Grandma's sink and then mummy got me all ready for bed so that when we arrived home about 8 pm I was all ready for bed whilst mummy and daddy could unpack.

On Saturday 23rd July we went to see my Uncle Colin at the home where he lives, where they had a Summer garden party.

August 2011

So on the 3rd August it was that time again, immunisation time, luckily I had my Granddad there this time, he held me nice and tight whilst I had more jabs and then gave me cuddles after and made me feel better.

On the 4th I went with mummy, Joe, Sam, Maria, Jack, Helen and Ellie for a walk around Rother Valley, I was nice and wrapped up in my pram as it wasn't a very nice day but I loved the fresh air. Grandma and Granddad came to visit me in the afternoon, they come to see me nearly every Thursday.

On the 5th I went out with my mummy, Lauren, Kirsty and Rowen for lunch to the pub as it was Lauren’s birthday, she loved her present it was a photo of me. At tea time I went with mummy and daddy to see Molly, Poppy, Andrea and Andrew as it was Molly's birthday.

On Saturday 6th we had a very busy day, I went with mummy and daddy to a Charity football event at Davy McKee as daddy was the goal keeper, then in the afternoon we went to Mat's birthday at his mum's house for a BBQ, then at night we went back to Davy McKee’s for the charity party until 9pm and then we went onto another party. It was daddy's friends surprise 30th birthday party at The Fairways. I had a dance with mummy on the dance floor. It was a very long day but I was good as gold and had lots of cuddles from everyone that day.

On Thursday 11th August I went to my daddy's cousin Stacey's house with mummy and daddy, it was her little boys 1st birthday, he had a little tea party and I went on a swing for the very first time, it was his new Little Tykes swing, mummy took some photos.

On Tuesday 16th I went to Aqua babes swimming class with mummy, Aimee & Jacob, we have a play first with watering cans, balls, foam teddy bears and toys then we sing nursery rhymes in the water, my mummy takes me most Tuesdays, we had a lovely time.

September 2011

On Saturday 3rd I spent the whole day with my daddy whilst my mummy went to Coventry to a Body Shop Conference, we had such a lovely day together, my daddy took me for a walk in my pram and we went to visit Shauna and also daddy’s friend Carl and his wife Michala and their little boys. My mummy couldn’t wait to come home that evening as she had missed me so much and my daddy managed to keep me awake so that I could have a cuddle off my mummy before I went to bed.

On September 15th it was my mummy’s birthday, I gave her my first birthday present which was some butterfly earrings. We had a busy day with lots of visitors, Aunty Caz came in the morning, then Grandma and Granddad then at tea time Aunty Caz came back with Uncle Tony, Joe and Sam, Lauren and Greg came and mummy’s friend Claire.

The next day we had to take my nephew to the Children’s hospital as he fell down outside our house the previous night and twisted his ankle, mummy drove so that she could park outside the hospital whilst aunty Caz carried Sam in. We weren’t there that long and Sam was fine and after his x-ray and his chat with the doctor we were able to go home.

In the afternoon it was my first visit to Sunny Meadows nursery, which is a private nursery that I will be going to three times a week whilst mummy goes back to work part time. I had a lovely time whilst mummy and daddy had a look around the nursery and a meeting with the nursery manager. I stayed in the Jelly Babies room with the nursery nurses and played. Then that night I went to sleep at my aunty Caz's for the first time so that mummy and daddy could go out for my mummy’s birthday for some drinks and a meal. I had fun at Aunty Caz’s and played with Joe & Sam and then mummy and daddy came and collected me the next day and we then travelled down to Norfolk where we stayed in a Caravan for 2 nights.

The first night we went to the club on site with Wayne, Julie and Cameron, we had a lovely time, my mummy bought me a light-up butterfly which I loved. The next morning mummy and daddy took me swimming and then Wayne, Julie and Cameron went home at lunchtime and we got a little train into Hunstanton, a seaside town.

It was a lovely day and mummy and daddy pushed me in the pram all along the sea front back to our caravan. It was very warm and sunny. That night we went back to the site club and the next day, Monday, we travelled home. It was a lovely little break.

My daddy was off work on holiday for the rest of the week and we had a lovely time, my daddy came with me and mummy on the Tuesday to Aqua Babes and my daddy watched me play in the water and dance with mummy to the nursery rhymes. On the Thursday I went to The Old Crown pub with mummy, daddy, Grandma and Granddad, and we had lunch there. We did lots of family days out that week, it was lots of fun. From the 19th my daddy was off work all week.

October 2011

The following days me and my mummy pretty much do the same things, on a Tuesday morning we go to Aqua Babes at Graves Leisure Centre, Wednesday morning we go to playgroup at St Mary's Church and Thursday afternoons Carly usually comes in her lunch break for an hour and Grandma and Granddad come in the afternoon for a few hours to see me.

I’m now getting much bigger and I can sit up on my own, I have also been trying a few different foods like Farley’s Rusk crushed with warm milk, pureed pears, apples and papaya fruits. Not all the time, but I just have a couple of spoonfuls every day now I am 6 months old. I can now hold my training drink cup on my own and can drink from it on my own although sometimes I do miss my mouth which doesn’t matter as it is all part of learning.

I have been having a couple of pureed spoonfuls of the following each day:-

Breakfast - Organic Banana Porridge

Lunch - Papaya, pear and banana fruits

Tea - Sweet potato

Sometimes if I don’t have the sweet potato for tea my mummy gives me a treat at supper time of crushed Farley’s Rusk with warm milk.

My Growing-Up Record

Since I was born I have had immunisations on the following dates:-

I don’t have any more until I am 1 year old. ( can’t wait ! )

My midwife and health visitor have always been satisfied with my weight gain, I was born weighing 8lb 2oz, since then my weight has been the following:-

12/5 - 7lb. 4oz 

18/5 - 8lb. 7oz

26/5 - 9lb. 7oz

1/6 - 10lb. 1oz

16/6 - 11lb. 1oz

4/7 - 11lb. 12oz

21/9 - 16lb.0oz

I will be going again on Thursday to see the health visitor to get weighed and have a weaning check up.

My mummy and daddy read to me every night a book called 'that’s not my puppy' and now I can touch and feel each page on my own as the book is made with all different fabrics.
